Dr. Marten Disappointment lifestyle

As those of you who know me are aware, I love shoes. Love 'em. Love. 'em. Currently, I've been eyeing these babies and just waiting for Zappos to get them in my size.
(By the way, Zappos is *the* place for shoes...I highly recommend it.)

Anyway, while gazing longingly at these cuties, I decided to take a gander at some of the shoe reviews, and proceeded to come across this article, stating that Dr. Marten shoes are no longer made in the UK and operations have moved to China!

How can this be? The whole mystique of Docs is that they're made in the UK. Now they're going to just be like every other shoe manufacturer. I'm very very disappointed.

I agree. I purchased some Doc Martens 4 months ago. The yellow cording around the edge of the shoe has frayed only on one side of one of the shoes. The retailer will not take them back because the purchase is old and I cannot find Dr. Marten to turn them in. The retailer told me to go to their web site. What web site? I cannot find one from the manufacturer.

-totally dissapointed
Please help

Hi Catherine,
Shame to hear about your Dr. Martens, but I've had my pair for 5 years, worn them day in and day out. I probably polished them once when I first got them. They started to look a litttle worse for wear so I decided to polish them. I was amazed at how great they look again, almost like new. I'm now taking new pride in them and polishing them faithfully once a week. They look great and the yellow stitching is entirely intack, so I'm kinda surprised that yours didn't hold up. Any way the company's website is www.drmartens.com
