When are people going to learn?

Never, ever, ever talk about anything that can even remotely be construed as positive when you’re talking about Hitler.

Never. Ever.

WB season premieres

The WB will be kicking off the next seasons of Smallville and (of great importance to Desiree) the newly Spike-tastic Angel on October 1st.

Hard to believe that October is only 2 months away… where did the summer go?

You’re blaming who?

Just came across this article where Paramount is actually blaming Eidos for the lack of movie sales for Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

Excuse me? You’re blaming the game? What about your own advertising? What about the extremely shitty first movie you put out that completely burned all of us who were stupid enough to spend way too much money on admission, popcorn and a large Diet Coke in order to sit in a dark theatre with a bunch of drooling boys watching Angelina Jolie attempt to act while prancing around in her pajamas and artifically enhanced boobs?

Despite misspelling his name, Fimoculous posted a link to and high praise for a BBC interview with Morrissey (Real Audio format).

“I respectfully dissent”

This Motion to Dismiss filed in Colorado district court has got to be the funniest thing I’ve seen all month.

A teenager who used the “f-word” when hauled into his principal’s office was charged with disorderly conduct, and an obviously bored (and might I suggest more than slightly smart-assed) deputy state public defender submitted the above referenced 7-page court document describing the history of and legal precedent for using the term. An excerpt:

22. The state has the power to protect its citizenry from actual harm, and thus has the power to outlaw one yelling “Fire!” in a crowded theatre. See, Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47 (1919). However, yelling “Fuck!” in a crowded theatre does not create a clear and present danger to anyone and thus cannot be outlawed. Although they are both four letter words that start with F, the distinction is constitutionally significant.

Comics for Kids

So I was glancing through a recent issue of Better Homes and Gardens (don’t ask) and I came across a surprising article…”Comics with Class”, comics that are good for you and your children.

Their list of “must reads” include:
Astro City
Bone
Batman in the Fifties (heh..none of that Dark Knight stuff, eh? :) )
Books of Magic (I was surprised to see a Gaiman book on here)
Goodbye Chunky Rice (huh?)
Justice League Adventures
Little Lit
Marvel Essentials
Ruse
Spirited Away (I might want to look for this one)
Star Wars
Superman for All Seasons
Ultimate SpiderMan

The article also listed comics that were “good for girls”. I’ve pretty much never heard of any of them. Me? Give me a good Tank Girl or Alias any day. The grittier the chick, the better. :)

Boy, I’m red in the face!

Ok, I have to admit that I fell for the Bambi hoax. I guess it’s time I learned to take what I read on the Internet with one huge grain of salt. :)

When paradigms collide

Popular Science has reprinted some computing tips from New Witch magazine, apparently for no other reason than to mock them. In my unsolicited opinion, magazines don’t insult each other frequently enough (with the noticeable exception of Stuff and its editor.)
