I want a pet Kangaroo!

What I got from this story:

Kangaroos bark?

Moz article in the Guardian

Although now nearly 3 weeks old (yes, I have been working that much), there’s a great interview with Morrissey in The Guardian.

My favorite quotes:

  • “I’m not really that hot on the human race to be honest. Very few people have anything to offer.”

  • “Despite massive discouragement, I remain myself.”

A montage of funny

Four visual treats shamlessly borrowed from the ever-alert and inexhaustible Gravity Lens, where Jeff regularly proves that he’s a much better (and frequent) weblogger than we are…

Exhibit A: Fark’s sci-fi Photoshop contest
Exhibit B: Embarassing prom photos
Exhibit C: An aspiring politician dressed up as a Lord of the Rings character on his campaign website
Exhibit D: NASCAR and Wonder Woman (who’s so tall, she’s quite believably Amazonian)

Finally! An excuse for neglecting our weblog!

I’m not sure about its staying power, but I am having way too much fun with City of Heroes.

Dan and I preordered (and I was in the Beta), so we were able to hop on to the 3-day headstart.

After about 5 million discarded character templates (oh, just play with the random costumes button…they can be hysterical), we were on and playing. I’m playing with two different characters, Feu (my fire chick) and The Goddess Bastet (check my Wolverine style!!).

Here’s a picture of Feu and one of Dan’s eventually discarded characters, Convergence (he, like so many Marvel characters, has been reincarnated into another form).

Anyway, it’s mindless fun and more addicting than I had anticipated. You can levitate at level 6…the precursor to flying and damn, that’s just going to be awesome. I decided to skip flying with Bastet because, darn it, cat goddesses have to keep all four feet on the ground!

Up up and awayyyyyy!!!

Yep, we’ll be playing. Keep an eye out for us (not sure which server), I’ll be the chick with a moon on her chest. :)

More caped crusaders

Looks like yet another dynamic duo have suited up and are fighting crime in the UK.

There sure seem to be a lot more aspiring superheroes on the other side of the pond… for example, there’s this, this, and this.

Moz headlining Lollapalooza

Because I’m an idiot and/or working too hard, I somehow missed the 29 March announcement that Morrissey will be headlining Lollapalooza 2004.

Wierd, but oddly cool too.

A night on the town

Who says Bruce Wayne can’t have some fun with the ladies?

Now I’m thinking that the new coat I’ve been looking for should be a SeV, which the manufacturer claims (scroll down a bit until you see the Batman logo) may be the basis for the new on-screen utility belt.

Just because you’re paranoid…

…doesn’t mean you don’t need a USB microdrive locked to your thumbprint.

Case modding insanity

For gamers, making modifications to your computer’s case started out as another form of bragging rights at LAN parties, i.e. “my computer looks cooler than your computer”. But as Apple in general and the iMac in particular made people start thinking about the industrial design of objects that people were looking at more and more frequently, it became more and more of a general aesthetic and style issue. Now it’s to the point where it’s a full-blown hobby.

Hell, even I have a digital temperature guage on the front of my case and a very apropos fan grill which was thoughtfully given to me by my brother-in-law.

I’ve seen the teddy bear computer case, a case made from the cardboard box that WinXP comes in, and many many others. Still, I hadn’t realized the art/science/hobby had been elevated to the level where a case had been made out of a life-sized anime girl sculpture.
